My name is Valeta Prendergast, Owner-CEO-Consultant of The VP Approach, LLC (VPA) and I am a passionate advocate for women and girls. VPA was formed as a result of my deep commitment to helping nonprofits thrive in achieving their missions and strategically converting those missions into a broader vision that would expand their reach in the communities that they serve. This journey began in 2014 when my life was deeply impacted by my volunteer work with the New York Women's Foundation (NYWF) as a member of the Grants Advisory Committee (GAC). Thereafter I became a key member of the Executive Team on the Board of the LCU Fund for Women’s Education and eventually went on to chair their Grants Committee. I manage a portfolio of 19 schools with a total annual grant disbursement schedule of approximately $800k, conduct site visits and monitor and evaluate existing grantees.
My professional expertise consists of finance and budgeting; strategic planning and implementation; grant writing and management; contracts and procurement; project management; and travel risk management. This unique blend of skills go into all of the services that I offer through my consultancy. The VP Approach, LLC conducts itself under the guiding, fundamental principles of humility, integrity and the collaborative spirit of team work – meaning that your organization will be in the expert hands of a fearless leader who cares about your mission and is deeply committed to helping you accomplish your goals. I pride myself on bringing a meticulous attention to detail by offering a ‘start to finish’ approach to consulting, with the ultimate goal of becoming your go to consulting firm for your organization’s projects, a trusted thought-partner and mentor for life.
