The Zonta Club of Washington, D.C. is one of the more than 1,100 member clubs of Zonta International (ZI), a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. There are 28,000 individuals, called Zontians, who are members of Zonta clubs in 62 countries around the world.
The Zonta Club of Washington, D.C. has a long history and strong commitment of supporting women in their educational pursuits. Since its inception in 1923, the Zonta Club of Washington, D.C. Undergraduate Scholarship program has awarded over $400,000 in grant scholarship assistance to women attending DC-area educational institutions.
The Zonta Club of Washington, D.C. grants support undergraduate women pursuing or planning to pursue a degree in areas such as but not limited to business, engineering, healthcare, mathematics, education, technology or the sciences (social or basic). The Club also grants awards through the Edith SeVille Coale Medical Scholarship and the Virginia Longest Nursing Scholarship programs.
