BuyFromWomen™ Business Owner: Meet Mavie Marcos of Fuse Music Studio

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself and your career path so far.
A: I've been a professional singer and songwriter for over 13 years, having been fortunate enough to tour the world with Billboard Chart topping songs. I first began my musical studies at the age of 4 with the Suzuki method. I later studied more traditional piano methods as well as the unique techniques used in the Simply Music Piano Method. I began songwriting and competing as a young child, and these experiences have lent themselves to my customized piano, voice, and electronic music production lessons.

At Fuse Music:Song Lab, I've created a music program specifically designed for kids that is not only fun, but teaches them how to become profound musicians and songwriters. I love bringing my experience as a professional musician to teach students to play and enjoy performing for others.

Q: What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
A: I like having my own vision and taking action to see that vision come to life.

Q: Tell us about your business.
A: I own a music school. This school offers piano and voice lessons as well as an emphasis in song-writing and performance opportunities.

Q: What have been the biggest challenges of being an entrepreneur?
A: It has been a challenge creating effective systems to deal with the administrative parts of the business so I have the time to focus on developing the best music curriculum for my students.

Q: Where have you found the support you've needed to start, grow, and scale?
A: I have found the greatest support from other moms who want their children to experience the benefits of playing and performing music.

Q: What is the one piece of advice you would like to share with other entrepreneurial women in the world?
A: Make sure to have enough starting capital to get you through your first year. Once you have that, get out into the community and tell everyone about your vision and what makes that vision unique and life-changing.

Q: What do you like most about WorldWideWomen?
A: I love how easy this website makes it for me to share my business with other women.
