Leader Spotlight: Mari Galloway of Women's Society of Cyberjutsu

Q: Where do you live?

A. Las Vegas, Nevada

Q: Tell us about your organization.

A. We empower women to fearlessly enter, advance, and lead in cyber careers through hands-on cyber and tech training, networking, mentoring, and community involvement. We serve women and girls across the country.

Q: What is the one piece of advice you would like to share with other women looking to start an organization?

A. Do your research and be prepared to put in the work. There is so much information out there and just understanding the basics, like administrative tasks, is very helpful. Also, make sure to start building your team of volunteers; they are VERY important to your success.

Q: How can WorldWideWomen readers get involved in what you are doing?

A. Get involved by joining us, donating funds and computer and tech equipment, volunteering to teach or helping revamp some of our processes. Readers can go to womenscyberjutsu.org and find all the ways to support and get involved.

Q: Who is the greatest female influence in your life?

A. My mom. She's a super rock star!

Q: What do you feel is your greatest achievement?

A. Being able to provide a platform, a community to women who otherwise have felt they didn't belong.

Q: Please share with us something that you want other women around the world to hear.

A. Don't be afraid to fail. Failing is how you become successful. “When we give ourselves permission to fail, we, at the same time, give ourselves permission to excel.” - Eloise Ristad
